ANNA CHIERICHETTI

The Italian soprano, Anna Chierichetti, made her musical studies at the Conservatory of Milan, graduating in both Singing and Vocal Chamber Music with honors. She followed master-class with Renata Scotto, Leyla Gencer and Elly Ameling.
Following her Italian debut as Adina in L'Elisir d'amore, Anna Chierichetti is in demand with major Italian and foreign opera houses and orchestras. Her career has taken her to the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Covent Garden in London, Salzburg Festival, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Bilbao Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, La Maestranza in Seville, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Zürich Opera House, the Festival of Aix-en-Provence, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, Opera Bastille in Paris, Opera de Lyon, Teatro Regio di Torino, Warsaw Opera, Krakow Opera, Teatro Bellini in Catania.
Anna Chierichetti has performed with many important conductors, such as R. Abbado, Fabio Biondi, G. Carella, Alan Curtis, William Christie, Ottavio Dantone, R. Fruebeck de Burgos, John Eliot Gardiner, Christopher Hogwood, René Jacobs, Riccardo Muti, P. Olmi, D. Oren, Christophe Rousset, N. Santi, C. Scimone, Giuseppe Sinopoli, J.C. Spinosi, Vladimir Spivakov, Marcello Viotti. She was stage directed, among others, by R. Carsen, D. Fo, P. Mailler, D. McVicar, S. Medcalf, A. Noble, E. Olmi, P. Pizzi, L.Puggelli, L. Ronconi, G. Vick, R. Wilson, M. Znaniecki.
Her voice and stylistic flexibility has allowed her to include in its repertoire roles ranging from Baroque to contemporary, with a strong predilection for the W.A. Mozart's musical theater (The Magic Flute, Marriage of Figaro, Così fan tutte, La Clemenza di Tito, Ascanio in Alba, Don Giovanni) and the Belcanto. She appeared several times at Teatro alla Scala in Milano, where she was appreciated performer in 2005 of Europa Riconosciuta by Salieri, at the reopening of the Theater, conducted by Riccardo Muti, and Dido and Aeneas in 2006; recent personal success as protagonist of Teneke by Fabio Vacchi, the first execution in absolute at Teatro alla Scala. In 2008 and again in 2010 she appeared with great success in Warsaw Opera as Marguerite in Faust, new production staged by Bob Wilson; then she sang is Elvira in Don Giovanni at Krakow Opera and she also made her debut in the role of Glauce in Cherubini’s Medea in Catania.
In the concert repertoire Anna Chierichetti sang always to great acclaim in prestigious international concert hall, such as the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Rotterdam’s Doelen, the Barbican in London, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Accademia Santa Cecilia in Roma, Radio Philarmonie in Utrecht, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona. She was chosen by John Eliot Gardiner for singing Contessa, Donna Elvira and Elettra in an European tour of Mozart Gala Concerts.
Anna Chierichetti has several recordings for labels Chandos, Dynamics, Bongiovanni and Arte Nova. Her discography includes the world-premiere recording of Il Califfo di Bagdad by Manuel Garcia, with Les Talens Lyriques conducted by Christophe Rousset, edited by Decca-Archiv. She currently lives in Sesto Calende.
